“Wild Swans at Colle”: My 6 Sentence Summary

“Wild Swans at Coole” captures the details of a forest through the eyes of the speaker. As the speaker wanders, he reaches a lake that “mirrors a still sky”, where he finds fifty-nine swans. He reminisces of nineteen years ago, when he came to that very lake to watch the swans, when suddenly, they all “scatter wheeling in great broken rings”. His heart breaks when thinking of how much has changed. The more he observes the swans, the more he understands that “their hearts have not grown old”. Upon thinking, he realizes that these “mysterious, beautiful” creatures will never change, no matter how much time will go by.
